Good afternoon, and welcome back to The Friday Five - especially to our new kindergarten families! We hope you've had a great summer and continue to enjoy the remaining few weeks before school starts back on August 12th.
At this time, your ParentSquare accounts should have rolled over to your 2026-27 schools. As a reminder, class and teacher visibility in ParentSquare will not be available until Open House events are held in August.
New in ParentSquare for 26-27: Notifications are now shown in a single, reliable list accessible from the bell icon on the app's home screen. The app's icon badge count will now also include Post notification counts to more accurately representing the total communications waiting on the inside of the app. ➡️ Learn more: View Notifications on the ParentSquare App (You must be logged into your ParentSquare account to access).

The countdown to a new school year is on! Whether you're returning for another great year or joining the Cabarrus County Schools family for the first time, now is the perfect time to get ready. Here are five quick reminders to help your family start the school year with confidence.
✅ Mark Your Calendar: Open House events are just around the corner, and the first day of school is Wednesday, August 12. Visit www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/openhouse for your school's Open House date and time.
✅ Gather School Supplies: Elementary and middle school supply lists are available online. Shopping early helps students begin the year prepared and ready to learn. Find your school's list at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/schoolsupplies. As a reminder, high school supply lists will be provided by individual teachers during the first days of school.
✅ Check Your Transportation: If your child will ride the bus and you did not complete a transportation request form prior to school getting out in May or when you enrolled your child this summer, please be sure to request transportation through your child's school if you haven't already. Bus passes will be available at your child's Open House. Bus route information will be uploaded to the Edulog Parent Portal beginning August 3.
✅ Stay Connected: Don't miss important updates from your school. Make sure your contact information is current so you can receive messages through ParentSquare. Follow @cabcoschools on Facebook, Instagram, X, and follow us on NextDoor for district news, reminders, and celebrations throughout the year.
✅ Visit Our Back-to-School Hub: Looking for calendars, enrollment information, meal information, transportation, school supplies, Open House schedules, and more? You'll find everything you need in one convenient place at www.cabarrus.k12.nc.us/backtoschool.
We're excited to welcome our students back for another incredible year of learning, growth, and opportunity. Here's to a great start to the 2026-27 school year!

HIGH SCHOOL SCHEDULES: 2026-27 schedules for high school students are still being finalized as school counselors continue balancing course requests, graduation requirements, staffing allotments, class sizes, and scheduling conflicts for all students. We appreciate your patience as this complex process continues throughout the summer. While work with schedules will continue throughout the summer, due to reduced summer staffing hours for School Counselors, responses and schedule adjustments may take additional time. Final student schedules will be available at Open House in August. Thank you for your understanding and support as we work to create the best possible schedules for all students.
